Wallflower Network version can be thought of as the
Enterprise Edition of Wallflower . It is designed for
use where the Scheduler and Display are on separate machines. This is used by
organisations that have multiple displays. The Scheduler is able to
schedule multiple locations each of which may be one or more displays.
The Scheduler database is often a full copy of MS SQL Server although MSDE can
be used for smaller organisations.

Wallflower Network version normally operates with
displays connected to the central Scheduler database via various networking
methods. The Displays connect to the Scheduling database and a central Media
Library set of folders to download Schedules and Media.
There are several options for connecting the Displays to the Scheduler.
In large installations several different PCs are able to Schedule one or more
locations and the Schedule Database and Media Library are located on different
servers.
There are several options for connecting the Displays to the Scheduler.
A LAN or WAN provides for updating of Schedules and Media in real-time. The
Wallflower Pony Express functionality uses an ftp site to store Schedules and
Media. A speciality of Wallflower is Scheduling using Pony Express connected
via cell phones. This provides a cable-free installation with minimum
disruption to users’ networks. Displays then download either frequently or at
off-peak times. Off-line updating of Schedules and Media can be performed using
CD-roms or other storage devices.
In all cases Wallflower uses the minimum bandwidth possible to reduce the load
on networks or Internet connections by only sending the absolute minimum of
information.
Security is paramount. By using encrypted ftp access in conjunction with easily
maintained security hierarchies certified in some of the most security
conscious environments Wallflower users are assured of industry-leading
security.
